OUR STORY

Our Journey Comet was established in 2017 by three friends from diverse professional backgrounds. Over the years, we have expanded into a team of over 20 designers and engineers dedicated to developing clear and scalable digital products. Our commitment to design systems, UX/UI, and contemporary app development influences all our efforts. What sets us apart is our collective approach, characterized by systematic thinking, curiosity, teamwork, and a commitment to creating effective products for users.

HBO GO webAR

In 2020, we launched a unique WebAR (augmented reality) citylight campaign for our partner, HBO Hungary. The technology we developed allows content to be displayed in a virtual space directly through a web browser, eliminating the need for users to download a separate app. This approach leads to improved conversion rates and an enhanced user experience. The solution we created earned the Aranypenge JCDecaux Special Innovation Award. Our team delivered comprehensive services, including concept development, creative and 3D design, establishing UX processes within the technology, and designing and developing the final user interface. Addressing the interaction with augmented reality from both UI and UX perspectives, as well as setting up a subscription and email system for the associated sweepstakes, presented a distinctive challenge.

After our initial meeting with Globus representatives, we immediately recognized the opportunity to create something truly original for the Hungarian market. We then conducted market research and discovered that most contests relied on unique codes hidden in packaging or receipts, which participants submitted to microsites for instant prizes or a chance to win a final lottery. However, we found this approach somewhat uninspired and chose to pursue a different path. Inspired by the idea of fun and excitement, we decided to develop a game connected to a physical product, ultimately leading us to use augmented reality. This allowed us to merge a virtual game with a real product. We created a concept where customers could interact with cans on their smartphones and compete with others in augmented reality. The game resembles basketball, where players aim to throw vegetables into a can, accumulating points within a 60-second time limit. This innovative contest supports sales and appeals to our younger audience. To generate buzz and inform our audience about this new concept, we wanted to provide clear instructions on how to play. Given the small size of the cans, we chose citylights as an ideal advertising medium, as they offer enough space to explain the game. People often gather around them while waiting for public transport and have a few minutes to engage in a quick game for a chance to win without needing to purchase a product. Additionally, we utilized social media platforms for targeted advertising, including an educational video about the augmented reality contest.

Cleango

Cleango, which is featured in the Sharks series, is a mobile car washing service that allows users to designate a washer for their parked vehicle. Utilizing an 'on the spot' approach, Cleango focuses on eco-friendly car washing methods. While developing the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) for Cleango's new application, we enhanced multiple aspects of the washing order process, such as selecting a location, choosing a car, and setting a time. We also improved follow-up methods, real-time status updates, complicated checkout processes, and integrated options for credit and coupon payments.
