I am the Founder and Owner of Scholars Academy, where we offer evening coaching and tutoring services for high school and college students. My responsibilities include administration and management. **OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE** Why did your company choose to work with CodeJunkie? We required accounting and management software capable of tracking daily expenses, monthly tutor salaries, and student fees. Additionally, we needed features for attendance and student management that would allow us to monitor student progress and share updates with their parents. We engaged CodeJunkie for the development of this software. What were your objectives for this project? Our aim was to create user-friendly software that met our specific needs. We wanted it to be accessible for both accountants and teachers. **SOLUTION** How did you choose this vendor? We were referred to them and I had already received quotes from other providers, but I found their previous work lacking. CodeJunkie impressed us with their portfolio. Although they were more expensive than the others, I had the budget and wanted a quality product. Can you describe the project and the services they offered? I did not provide them with any documentation or designs since I wasn’t sure how to articulate my requirements effectively. Instead, we held several meetings where they proposed workflows and discussed them with us. They then created some initial black and white designs, which we approved before they started development. They continually showed us their progress and incorporated our feedback. What was the composition of the team? I’m not entirely certain about the team structure, but I believe 2-3 engineers were involved in our software’s development. My primary communication was with the designated point of contact. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK** Can you provide insights on the impact this project has had on your business? We have significantly improved our ability to manage information related to teachers and students, which was previously done manually on paper. How was project management handled, and how effective was it? I’m not fully aware of their internal project management processes, but they maintained excellent communication with us, keeping us updated on progress and regularly seeking our feedback. What impressed you most about this company? They collaborate with clients across various regions globally, contributing to their strong portfolio. I was particularly impressed by their ability to understand our needs and ideas effectively. Are there any areas for improvement? I can’t think of any at the moment. They clearly know what they’re doing and exceed the capabilities of many local vendors we have considered.
