Gamified web application for onboarding
**Summary and Key Concept**
The onboarding process is a significant challenge and opportunity cost for many companies. The STADA group, specifically its Serbian subsidiary Hemofarm, which employs 4,000 people, recognized the necessity of enhancing its onboarding for new hires. To evaluate the knowledge of these new employees and provide more effective training, the decision was made to create an interactive onboarding game. This case study explores the game's design, development, implementation, and its impact on improving the integration of new staff. The game features a guide that assists each player throughout the onboarding experience, offering support and information. One component of the application is linked to the company’s internal information system, ensuring comprehensive coverage of each aspect of the organization. Over 54% of employees reported in their first month that they lacked the information needed for full productivity. At the outset, each player develops a personal guide to aid them during the onboarding process. Central to the game is a quiz, where players respond to a series of questions related to their roles and the company's values. The game encompasses five departments within the organization, allowing players to explore each one, meet employees, and gain insights. An avatar greets players in each department, guiding them through the experience. After each department, players are challenged with a quiz that gives them 30 seconds to answer correctly. The game's design encourages employees to achieve specific goals during onboarding, which will lead to rewards. The creation of this onboarding game for Hemofarm has proven to be a successful initiative that has enhanced the integration process. More details can be found here! - LINK
