Redbooth is an ambitious communication and collaboration platform aimed at businesses of all sizes, providing a thorough solution for project management, collaboration, and videoconferencing. Although their technical team was rapidly delivering features, the expansion of their customer base increased the demands on all areas of the business, including sales and customer support. Consequently, they faced a mounting backlog of internal projects essential for helping other teams keep pace with their swift growth. Collaborating with the client's technical leadership, we established the appropriate architecture and jumped into development. Throughout the project, we implemented four significant integrations. First, we addressed challenges faced by the sales team caused by unreliable data. After enhancing their Salesforce integration, they were able to regain their momentum. Similarly, the customer support team struggled with inconsistent data and lacked essential context when handling requests. We integrated their Zendesk platform with the existing customer information to create a holistic view for incoming requests, which improved the quality and efficiency of their operations. We also resolved user experience challenges related to payments and invoicing, successfully transitioning all paying customers to a new pricing model on a completely different platform without any downtime. This change enhanced how end users accessed their invoice data and connected it to the CRM for sales analysis. Lastly, we established a data pipeline for business metrics, allowing product owners to make more informed decisions about a complex and expanding product. We concluded the project by providing thorough documentation and conducting technical discussions with the existing developer team. As a result, each department experienced increased productivity and effectiveness due to the new reliable integrations and business metrics system, significantly enhancing Redbooth's capacity to scale as a business. Bridging the education gap with a business simulation platform

Empresaula is a business simulation platform designed for students. Spain was one of the countries most affected by the 2008 financial crisis, experiencing skyrocketing unemployment rates. The increasing devaluation of university degrees made it increasingly difficult for young Spaniards to secure jobs. As companies began prioritizing practical skills over formal degrees, vocational training programs saw a significant increase in popularity, resulting in much lower unemployment rates for their graduates. However, many students failed to complete these programs due to a lack of motivation and outdated teaching methods, which primarily involved textbook learning. This situation presented an opportunity for us to create an innovative product aimed at transforming the future of young professionals and entrepreneurs: a realistic simulation platform that allows students to create and manage their own businesses within a dynamic trading network. Our challenge was to build a high-quality platform with excellent customer support that would also be affordable for public schools. After several months of development, we created our first prototype and began refining it in collaboration with a local public school. We then introduced it to 30 additional regional schools during our initial public launch, with 25 signing up on the same day. Since then, we have expanded the platform to include a comprehensive range of features, including a simulated banking and financial system with credit, mortgages, leasing, and SEPA transfers, as well as a logistics network with realistic transportation costs and a recommendation engine for purchase and sales opportunities between schools. We take great pride in how the product has evolved and continue to onboard more schools each year. Scaling a football simulation game to 8 million users

Golden Manager is a web-based football game that has an ambitious monetization plan. With the support of F.C. Barcelona player Gerard Piqué, it initially launched as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) created by a third-party agency to facilitate a quick start. However, while this MVP served its purpose initially, it quickly revealed several issues. Development came to a near halt due to subpar code quality, but the most significant challenge was its architecture and design, which couldn’t accommodate the high demand from eager fans. Each time Piqué tweeted about the game, it attracted thousands of fans, leading to system crashes. Moreover, the monetized features were too sluggish to keep users engaged, causing many to abandon the game in frustration. That's when we stepped in. After stabilizing the platform while continuously developing new features, we completely revamped the system. We transformed the self-hosted monolithic Rails application, which had once been deployed with great hesitation once a week, into a highly reliable, multi-region AWS deployment capable of supporting 8 million registered accounts and thousands of concurrent users at any time. By the time we handed over the project, we had established a team of 10 trained in our best practices, delivering code daily on a robust production system that managed both a constant influx of new paying customers and numerous concurrent players.
