This platform enables photographers to place their stunning images into elegantly designed pamphlets, brochures, and frames. We created an interface that lets users personalize these designs by incorporating text, cropping images, altering text colors, adding graphics, and more—all within a simple web browser. A key consideration when creating such a site was to ensure that the customization process is effective: straightforward, consistent, and smooth. Given that this is fundamentally an eCommerce site, we chose Magento as the core eCommerce framework, recognizing it as a reliable and proven platform capable of meeting various standard web store requirements. We developed the product configuration interface from scratch using pure JavaScript and jQuery. The user-friendly version was designed to be enjoyable while also guiding users through each step of the product design process. An extensive range of features was necessary, and it was essential that they mirrored the printed versions precisely. The end result is an elegantly designed customer-facing configuration tool that allows users to upload images, modify text, add personal logos, and more.

Jacquard Products offers an upscale dye named SolarFast, which is specially designed for artists to apply custom graphics onto t-shirts and other textiles using just sunlight. To help customers visualize their designs, Jacquard wanted to enable users to select an image from their mobile devices and virtually apply it to a shirt or textile using augmented reality. They also wanted users to view the design in a single color with their selected dye shade, and be able to move or resize the image in 3D and real-time—right in front of them! To meet Jacquard's needs, we developed an Augmented Reality (AR) app. This technology allows clients to point their phone at a physical shirt and see how it would look with their chosen design printed on it. Online customers can explore different colors and sizes from home, while those in brick-and-mortar stores can utilize their phones with any in-store t-shirts to visualize their designs. The app interface offers complete design control, enabling customers to upload images, modify colors using various Jacquard filters, and adjust contrast and brightness. Once the image appears on the shirt, customers can easily move it with a light touch, resize with a pinch gesture, or rotate with a two-finger touch. All these adjustments occur smoothly within the app's augmented reality environment.

Foodalyzer

Foodalyzer is a convenient way to access nutritional information about your meals—simply aim your phone’s camera at your food, and nutritional labels will appear in augmented reality. Initially created as a proof-of-concept to demonstrate that AI and Computer Vision could recognize food items on store shelves, the results from Computer Vision needed to be verified against a database of food products to ensure accuracy. Following the development of this proof-of-concept, the product team recognized the app’s potential value in the real world, especially if it could provide nutritional data for the foods displayed on-screen. We found a way to achieve this using available nutritional information, leading to the creation of Foodalyzer. The broader project is still in progress.
