OUR STORY
Founded in 2012 by Jason Citron, Discord emerged from a passion for gaming and communication. Initially launching the mobile MOBA game Fates Forever, the founders noticed a gap in reliable voice and text chat for gamers. Leveraging their experience, Jason and Stanislav Vishnevskiy developed Discord, a platform designed to facilitate seamless communication during gameplay. Over the years, Discord introduced innovative features such as in-game overlays, direct voice calls, custom emojis, video chat, screen sharing, and game streaming. Partnerships, including with PlayStation, expanded its reach, while initiatives like Discord Nitro and Server Boosting enhanced user engagement. Today, with leadership rooted in gaming expertise, Discord continues evolving as a premier space for gamers to connect across devices, powering in-game chat and fostering vibrant communities worldwide.
