Content Migration for a Leading EU Health Brand
**Project Overview**
CamelWeb was engaged by the French branch of a global healthcare company — part of one of the largest consumer goods conglomerates worldwide — to manage a large-scale content migration. Concentrating on plant-based medicinal products, this initiative entailed transferring hundreds of French-language product pages and articles from an outdated content management system (CMS) to a new digital platform. Spanning 3 to 6 months, the project required automation, manual checks, and close cooperation as client requirements evolved. Our responsibilities included ensuring precision, enhancing content quality, and facilitating a smooth transition.
**Objectives and Scope**
The client sought to shift from a disjointed online presence to a unified, modern platform that would:
- Streamline product and editorial content
- Enhance user experience and branding consistency
- Ensure content accuracy and integrity
- Simplify future updates using modern CMS tools
They preferred a quick lift-and-shift migration, making adjustments after the transfer, a strategy we adapted to even though we recommended a phased approach.
**Our Adapted Method**
CamelWeb introduced an optimal migration strategy that encompassed:
- Automated content extraction and auditing
- Normalization and error correction
- Content injection into the new system
- Manual quality assurance and validation
While structured, this method was modified to meet the client's desire for early content injection followed by subsequent corrections. This added complexity necessitated adjustments in resources, QA processes, and team coordination.
**Hybrid Automation & QA**
Using custom scripts, we extracted and organized content for the new CMS. Each batch underwent manual review to ensure:
- Accurate language and tone
- Consistent branding and formatting
- SEO metadata and media integrity
This combined approach allowed us to scale efficiently without compromising quality.
