Gameroo

Buglelab has recently completed a comprehensive redesign and development initiative for Gameroo, an online marketplace in the UK dedicated to buying and selling video games. The goal of the project was to improve the user experience, enhance functionality, and create an attractive design while integrating data from various APIs. The initial phase involved mapping the user journey, where the team outlined the steps users take when exploring, searching for, and purchasing video games on Gameroo.co.uk. This mapping helped identify challenges and opportunities for improvement, resulting in a more efficient and intuitive user experience. Utilizing Figma, Buglelab crafted UX/UI templates based on the new user journey, incorporating contemporary design trends and best practices to achieve a sleek and modern appearance that aligns with Gameroo's brand. Alongside the design, Buglelab also focused on database design and development, building a robust and scalable database capable of managing increased traffic and functionality. This included optimizing database queries, enhancing data security, and ensuring high performance even with significant traffic. Additionally, they aggregated and processed data from multiple APIs, enabling real-time updates for game prices and availability on the site. The front-end development utilized Laravel Blade and Tailwind CSS, facilitating the creation of responsive and customizable templates. The final result was a beautifully designed, fully operational, and user-friendly online marketplace that surpassed Gameroo's expectations.

From WordPress to JAMstack

Eflow Global

Eflow Global, a provider of regulatory compliance solutions for the financial services sector, sought Buglelab's assistance in enhancing the performance of their WordPress.com website. Following a website audit, Buglelab discovered that various uncompressed assets were hindering page load speed. To address this, they optimized all assets, minimized scripts and CSS, and transferred all assets to a trusted CDN provider. Despite these efforts, further testing revealed subpar hosting performance for the WordPress.com site, resulting in a 7-second delay before server response. Consequently, Buglelab recommended transforming Eflow's website into a JAMstack site to boost its performance. Client Charlie authorized Buglelab to redesign and rebuild eflowglobal.com as a JAMstack website. Since there was no need for payment processing, Buglelab utilized the Hugo Static Site Generator for its fast build capabilities. The UX/UI designer, Ihsan, created a modern, custom UI that Charlie greatly admired. Buglelab integrated each page with Forestry.io as the Content Management System, enabling Charlie and his team to easily update content. The primary conversion objective was to facilitate call bookings, for which they employed the Calendly API, contributing to an impressive 96% performance score for eflowglobal.com. This custom JAMstack website significantly lowered the user bounce rate, allowing users to make more informed decisions and ultimately increasing Eflow Global’s revenue. The project taught Buglelab the importance of transitioning directly to a JAMstack site instead of attempting to repair a poorly performing one, thus conserving both time and resources for their clients and themselves. Recently, following the discontinuation of Forestry.io, they have switched to a full visual builder using CloudCannon, much to Charlie's delight, as it allows him to easily create new landing pages for his JAMstack site.
