VIVIDOO: Making science fun with AR-powered books
We assisted in creating a new educational platform powered by augmented reality for children and their parents, making science learning significantly more engaging. Vividbooks is a prominent EdTech startup specializing in interactive textbooks utilizing augmented reality, initially intended solely for schools and educators. However, they decided to make playful learning accessible to parents and children, leading to the development of a new product called Vividoo following our collaboration. Traditional educational textbooks for children often lack engagement, and explaining complex topics can be time-consuming for parents. This prompted us to ask, “What if there was an augmented reality solution that both entertains and educates kids?” Throughout the development of this new product, we employed the Business Design Thinking methodology to ensure a comprehensive approach to its design. In a series of workshops with the Vividbooks team, we created a business blueprint for the product, established expectations and challenges, identified the target audience, and formulated a value proposition which we validated both quantitatively and qualitatively through online surveys and face-to-face interviews with potential customers. We also analyzed competitors, experimented with various revenue models, explored customer acquisition strategies, and determined the content delivery methods. Subsequently, we prototyped and tested several product configurations, ultimately selecting the one that received the most favorable feedback from potential users.
