At Brightec, we aim to create technology that positively impacts lives. In collaboration with Virgin Red, a company that prioritizes people, experiences, and sustainability, we launched an initiative to enhance travel with the Virgin Trains Ticketing app. Recognizing the difficulties associated with train travel, such as ticket booking and station navigation, Virgin Red wanted to simplify and reward the experience. The Virgin Trains Ticketing app enables Virgin Red members to earn Virgin Points on their train purchases, which can be redeemed for various rewards, providing flexibility and continuous value. The free app was developed through a collaborative effort involving Brightec and Virgin Red's design team, developers, user researchers, and ticketing provider, SilverRail. This teamwork was crucial in creating a user-focused app that stands out in the marketplace. The development phase included extensive user testing and feedback, utilizing insights from Virgin Red’s Diary Studies along with Brightec’s own research, ensuring the app was not only functional but also resonated with Virgin’s distinctive brand identity. After its launch on June 28, 2022, Virgin Trains Ticketing garnered positive reviews, demonstrating its success in embodying the Virgin brand. It was awarded 'App of the Year' at the UK eCommerce Awards 2023. Brightec continues to collaborate with Virgin Red to improve the app, aiming to introduce new features while upholding the high standards of the Virgin experience.

Virgin Red reached out to us for assistance in developing their new loyalty platform, aiming to introduce innovative ways to reward current members and attract newcomers. They planned to launch a train ticketing feature within Virgin Red that transforms the commonplace task of buying train tickets into an extraordinary experience by allowing members to earn points on their daily travels.
