The Indiana University Libraries (IUL) website hadn't undergone a major update in a decade. To address this, they selected Bluespark to transition from their outdated content management system to Drupal and to undertake a complete redesign. Given the large number of stakeholders and users on both the front and back ends of the site, it was crucial to establish clear organizational goals for the new website. Key objectives included migrating to Drupal, enhancing and streamlining the search function, providing a more consistent format for librarians to create Subject sitelets, and effectively managing library hours for all IUL branch libraries. Bluespark collaborated with IUL to fully tailor the Drupal administrative interface for various content producers and editors—including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and subject librarians—by defining user roles and improving the efficiency of content creation, editing, and approval processes. Since 2012, Bluespark has completed four projects with the Indiana University Libraries, which include redesigning the main Library site, customizing the administrative interface, and improving search functionality to enhance usability for their diverse audience. We now continue to provide support and maintenance for the site.
