Blacksmith created a brand that perfectly aligns with our fundamental design principles and importantly appeals to our increasingly selective clientele. Their efforts not only serve as a stunning presentation for our products but also play a crucial role in shaping our product strategy and influencing the overall design language throughout our work. Their unwavering support has been key to achieving an impressive return on investment, enabling us to cultivate and promote our brand to a growing community of watch collectors and enthusiasts, thereby driving the successful expansion of our brand on a national level. COOPER ZELNICK, FOUNDER Cloister manages the disassembly and customization of luxury watches, with restoration and reassembly carried out by specialists worldwide. Each piece is tailored to specifications through collaboration between founder Cooper Zelnick and his clients. Cloister also features a vintage collection that resembles a museum, which is not available for sale. Initially, Cloister watches were a personal endeavor, acquired "off the wrist" when someone appreciated a piece and made an inquiry. Over time, people became aware that luxury brand watches like Rolex® and Jaeger LeCoultre® could be customized. Cloister has a preference for mid-century aesthetics, so our objective was to craft an identity that comfortably sits alongside legendary brands while highlighting the distinct essence of the Cloister philosophy.

The messaging, influenced by a down-to-earth target demographic, incorporates playful humor with an approachable and trustworthy tone. By steering clear of fleeting trends, they focus on producing timeless wearables. With plans to roll out collections themed with varying styles and price points, the Leisurelust branding must be adaptable and versatile enough to maintain a distinctive and recognizable design in any context. We crafted fluid calligraphy and retro-futurist elements to merge modern and classic aesthetics for a playful yet refined touch. The color palette is vibrant and inspired by the seasons, while the typography strikes a balance between innovative design and timeless appeal.

"When Blacksmith started, we only had two offices; we now boast over 100 across 17 states. Currently, we're serving around 10,000 patients weekly and have had hundreds of thousands of patient interactions. Blacksmith's contributions have significantly impacted and enhanced our brand's performance.” — JEFF DE FLAVIO, CEO OF GROUPS. As a rapidly expanding company focused on addressing one of the nation's biggest issues, the Groups brand required a flexible, inviting, and trust-building approach. They were completing the designs for their first two offices when they approached us for branding. At that point, they had no identity apart from their name and the paint color of their offices. It was crucial for them to convey to patients, their families, and the broader medical community what they provide, the effectiveness of their services, and how they differentiate themselves from other treatment centers. We combined the street art style of Keith Haring with a professional medical aesthetic to create an identity that has thrived for over a decade and is now present in more than 100 offices nationwide. A significant component of this project, beyond the brand identity, was the Ten Tasks book—a 120-page guide detailing the recovery process in a narrative format. It features ample white space for clients to jot down notes and draw, along with text formatting that allows for both long and short versions to be easily accessible, highlighting key points with larger text to lower the barrier for understanding.
