Marc Gorlin, the founder of Roadie, aimed to revolutionize the shipping sector. He imagined an application that would utilize the unoccupied cargo space in passenger cars already on the road to facilitate quicker and more efficient deliveries. By utilizing Roadie's established visual designs and brand guidelines, we developed a strong UX strategy and a solid architectural framework that enabled Roadie to enter the market swiftly with a reliable and stable app. Our emphasis on code quality and identifying appropriate solutions allowed us to design for specific platforms, swiftly implement new features, and adapt as necessary. Shortly after its launch, the company marked over 100,000 downloads and garnered praise from both mainstream and tech media outlets.

InpharmD

Mercer University’s College of Pharmacy conceived an application aimed at providing healthcare providers with quick access to the most current drug information during the medication prescribing process. To bring this idea to life, they collaborated with Big Nerd Ranch Developers and Designers to develop InpharmD, which includes a native iOS app and a web application built with Ruby on Rails. By equipping healthcare providers with an effective resource for making informed decisions, this app has transformed practices in evidence-based medicine.

US Navy/SoarTech

US Navy/Solar Tech

Navy F/A-18 fighter pilots require immediate access to their information. In the past, this data was a physical stack of documents on their kneeboards. Big Nerd Ranch performed industrial design and user experience research to convert the paper kneeboard into a digital format and worked with a military contractor (SoarTech) to develop a proof-of-concept demonstration. Together with our designers and developers, we designed a new interface for SoarTech's existing AI, emphasizing a user-centric design that integrates the iOS application, the AI system, and the flight simulator.
