barKoder is a startup based in Sofia, on the slopes of Mount Vitosha, founded by a team of individuals from diverse backgrounds who aimed to develop a groundbreaking product featuring a cutting-edge barcode localization algorithm. This innovation is designed to improve mobile applications, whether for enterprise or consumer use, with a powerful mobile barcode scanning engine. The concept emerged from our experiences in the pharmaceutical, banking, and IT sectors, where we encountered projects that necessitated a precise and high-performance barcode scanner API. Unfortunately, the existing solutions were either excessively priced or significantly underperforming. Thus, the barKoder Barcode Scanner SDK was born. Gradually, the SDK has expanded its capabilities, now supporting the decoding of over 30 barcode types across more than 5 development platforms and incorporating advanced algorithms such as Batch MultiScan, DPM mode, Segment Decoding, a robust PDF417 recognition engine, and an efficient scanning mode for EAN & UPC barcodes, among others.
