About the Team
OUR STORY
Backboard was created to solve a persistent challenge in AI development: the lack of a standardized and durable memory layer. Recognizing that AI systems often struggled with session memory and user context due to fragmented, makeshift solutions, the company built a stateful platform that provides every AI agent with persistent memory and portable state. Supporting over 17,000 models, Backboard offers a unified API that works across various applications and sessions, eliminating the need for teams to rebuild memory systems. Esteemed in its field, it ranks #1 on LoCoMo and LongMemEval benchmarks. Upholding principles like state preservation, developer freedom, rapid delivery, and transparency, Backboard strives to enable AI that genuinely remembers and knows users, making AI memory an integral, reliable infrastructure component rather than an afterthought.
