Octopus Investments

Since its founding in 2000, Octopus Investments has expanded to 600 employees and serves over 150,000 customers across its Group. The company has established leading positions in tax-efficient investments, financing, renewable energy, and healthcare. As the business rapidly grew, its existing data center infrastructure became inadequate. The specific regulatory compliance demands of the Financial Services industry also influenced the selection process. Utilizing a proven consulting and project methodology, Octopus developed a shortlist of providers that aligned with its requirements and business goals. The outcomes were: 1. Octopus successfully negotiated with only two well-suited vendors, allowing for a streamlined selection of the finalist without a drawn-out process. 2. A critical business decision could be made confidently, thanks to the thorough shortlisting, selection, and awarding process. 3. This approach enabled the company to concentrate on more significant IT challenges and its business strategy, thereby allocating resources towards its ongoing and inevitable growth.

Digital transformation journeys

Lawn Tennis Association

With a turnover exceeding £60 million, more than 450 employees, and over 250,000 individual members alongside hundreds of volunteers, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) serves as the governing body for tennis in Great Britain, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. **Digital Transformation** The LTA recognized the need to enhance its website and CRM system performance, which had been managed by a co-located data center provider. Faced with outdated infrastructure and performance challenges affecting the online services for users, the LTA understood the importance of initiating changes as part of a new digital transformation strategy. **An Intelligent Cloud Platform for NFP** The LTA concluded that fulfilling its vision required a modern, intelligent cloud platform. They chose Atech based on their credentials and extensive experience as proficient cloud service providers and digital transformation experts within the nonprofit sector. **The Solution** The solution involved re-engineering the legacy web and data platform through Azure IaaS, effectively migrating to Azure. **The Results** The LTA successfully implemented an intelligent cloud platform that aligned with its goal of enhancing CRM system performance: 1. This included features like high availability, geo-redundancy, disaster recovery, and backups. 2. The Azure platform provided agility and scalability during peak demand, ensuring excellent service for both internal users and customers. 3. Assurance of future access to new Microsoft technologies. 4. Initial savings of £500,000, with ongoing monthly savings of over 30%.
