Founded in 2016 by software developer and UNO alumnus Taylor Korensky, Appsky is a dedicated team passionate about empowering entrepreneurs and businesses through custom software solutions. Over the years, the Omaha-based company has expanded to a team exceeding 15 professionals, completing more than 100 diverse projects ranging from mobile apps and small websites to complex, multifunctional web applications. Recognized for its impact, Appsky’s owners were named SBA Nebraska Small Business Persons of the Year in 2022. The company’s growth was further bolstered in 2020 when it joined the Maverick Venture Fund’s portfolio, receiving a convertible debt investment. My Heart Risk is a mobile application designed to assist users in monitoring their physical activities and assessing their health, particularly their risk for cardiovascular diseases. Through this app, you can track your activity progress on the Activities page and explore various trails on the Map page. Additionally, the Health Summary page provides insights into your cardiovascular risk and displays graphs of the activities you've logged. This app is associated with the Multicultural and Community Affairs department at Creighton University. By linking to a variety of verified fitness trackers compatible with the Apple Health Kit, you can continue tracking your workouts while helping to fund blindness cures. For every 120 calories you burn, Give Sight Global’s partners contribute $1 towards providing cataract surgery in underserved regions. The Give Sight Global app monitors your total calories burned, funds raised, and eyes treated. Besides tracking your caloric expenditure, you can designate your employer, and companies with multiple participating employees can match calorie contributions with monetary donations. Give Sight Global serves not only as a charitable initiative but also as a healthy living incentive program for workplaces. Upon downloading the Give Sight app, you'll be asked to grant permission for it to access your Health app data. Once you allow the app to connect with Apple Health, syncing your calories and workouts is as simple as pressing a button. Apple Health can gather data from numerous other fitness and health applications, so you can track your workouts in your preferred way, and they will automatically sync to Give Sight via Apple Health.
