SmartMedicsECG
At the core of the SmartMedics ECG system is the smallest 12-lead ECG in the world, which uniquely provides hospital-quality ECG recordings in such a compact size. With its extra leads, this device can identify a far greater range of heart conditions than traditional holters, 3-lead ECGs, or even 1-lead smartwatches. Known as Pebble, this discreet yet powerful device connects to a mobile app via Bluetooth Low Energy. It was challenging to ensure efficient real-time data streaming given the limited bandwidth of this technology. The received ECG signals are processed to eliminate any "contaminants" in real time, utilizing a set of highly optimized functions for digital signal processing and arithmetic on large arrays, while maintaining a low CPU load. Users can monitor their heart rhythm in real-time and save this data to their smartphones, which can later be shared with healthcare professionals as a PDF or EDF file. The mobile application also includes various features for patient management and test administration. Leveraging cloud technology, the SmartMedicsEKG system enables remote diagnostics with patient data meticulously stored to meet the highest security standards. A particularly notable feature is the ability to share the screen during ECG recording; by simply entering a registered doctor's email address, clinicians can view the heart rhythm in real-time, regardless of their location from the patient. Appotype handles all software components for the SmartMedics system, including the mobile app, web app, and cloud services for ECG record storage and processing.
