MUJI Delivers 161% Uplift in eComm Revenue
With only a limited number of stores in Australia, MUJI aimed to boost its eCommerce revenue while preserving the essence of its minimalist brand. The objective was straightforward: increase online sales by at least 76% annually while ensuring a high return on ad spend (ROAS). Given a tight media budget, we had to approach the task strategically and accurately. Our aim was not just to increase revenue—but to achieve growth that was controlled, efficient, and stylish. We overhauled MUJI’s paid search strategy from scratch, adhering to its global branding standards while adopting a local, conversion-focused approach. We organized Performance Max by product category to enable customized creatives and budget allocation, refreshed all ad copy and visuals with lifestyle images and clear, benefit-driven messaging, and initiated non-brand campaigns in high-intent categories using exact and phrase match keywords. We utilized automation by incorporating search themes, GA4 signals, and CRM data to enhance relevance. Halfway through the campaign, we transitioned to Target ROAS bidding, utilizing in-house modeling to establish category-specific thresholds. This enabled us to scale profitably while remaining adaptable to seasonal trends and stock levels. The results surpassed expectations across all key metrics: a 161% increase in eCommerce revenue, a 48% improvement in ROAS, and a 20.8% rise in average order value.
