Manchester, You've Got Work to Do

Unknown

Anattic has launched a new online advertisement that showcases the incredible art and creativity flourishing in Greater Manchester. The film spotlights the artists and creatives who contribute to the city's impressive status as Europe's second most creative city, following London. Directed by James Copson, a native of Tameside, the project features genuine people and creatives in their real workspaces and inspiring locations throughout the region. James captures an authentic and personal portrayal of the talented individuals and agencies in Manchester producing remarkable work. Filmed over five days with a small crew across various sites, the production presented challenges but was ultimately fulfilling, providing an opportunity to meet inspiring individuals. Created for the Creative Scale Up Programme under the UK Government’s Department of Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS), the Business Growth Hub, and Greater Manchester Combined Authority, the ad emphasizes why businesses in Manchester are a valuable investment. It aims to raise awareness of the exceptional talent in the North, helping businesses and individuals gain recognition and motivating artists to continue their creative endeavors.

Mental Health Motorbike

Unknown

Mental Health Motorbike is a charity dedicated to providing mental health support specifically for motorcyclists in the UK. Founded in memory of Dale Caffrey, the organization targets bikers who often suppress their emotions and struggles. Their mission is to reduce suicide rates nationwide by establishing a network of mental health first aiders in local motorcycle shops, cafes, and dealerships, available for those in need. Anattic teamed up with Triumph UK and Bennetts Insurance to create a brief promotional video for the charity to amplify their message and enhance awareness of their efforts. Directed by James Copson, the advert portrays a man in a dark place, struggling to find the motivation to move forward in life. While aimlessly scrolling through social media, he encounters an advertisement for MHM and bravely decides to reach out for help. Once back on his bike, he experiences a renewed sense of clarity on the open road, reconnecting with his surroundings before meeting a mental health first aider. As a fellow biker, James captures the mental liberation that riding can bring, illustrating how bikers can momentarily forget their worries while focusing solely on the journey. He presents this experience in a dreamy, fluid riding style that conveys a sense of relaxation and emotion. We were enlisted to enhance the remarkable story crafted by the talented creative directors at Special Group. Matt and James faced the challenge of working remotely alongside creative directors and advertising agencies located in Australia and New Zealand. It was an incredible experience, even as it required early morning Zoom calls at 7 AM. With the Special Group team coordinating the concept, script, and animation, Anattic proposed Matt and James as the directing duo, both of whom have collaborated with Daniel Ricciardo on different projects previously.
