Irth is a highly regarded product created by Narrative Nation, advocates for health equity who aim to democratize the storytelling of health disparities. Irth enables safe and informed maternity care for Black and brown mothers. It is transforming pregnancy and childbirth for these families by providing authentic reviews of birth experiences from individuals like you. Users can also find suitable doctors, hospitals, and clinics through Irth and document their entire beautiful birthing journey. Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other women of color face the highest rates of maternal mortality, obstetric violence, and near-fatal experiences during pregnancy and childbirth. Moms of color deserve to give birth without bias, and Irth is committed to fostering accountability and change. Join our community for an uplifting pregnancy experience! The Irth App was initially developed using native technologies for apps and Ruby on Rails for the backend. However, to facilitate ongoing updates and expansion of the app, it was decided, in collaboration with clients, to transition to a single high-quality codebase. Within three months, we successfully migrated the entire Irth App to React Native and Node.js for both the app and backend. We established a CI/CD pipeline, implemented a strong project development framework, and dedicated a team of five people to work on Irth daily.
