Atlas Copco - Mobile app for assets
The SMARTLINK web interface allows customers to track their compressed air installation in real-time; however, it remains difficult for them to receive crucial alerts on their mobile devices. This challenge can result in missed notifications that could enhance the installation's reliability and efficiency. Thus, the task was to create an effective mobile solution for customers needing essential equipment information while away from their desks. Atlas Copco identified the necessity for a comprehensive solution to change how customers monitor, maintain, and optimize their utility rooms while also improving user adoption through better design and technology.
Our Approach At Aaltra, we tackled this challenge using our unique methodology, which merges deep technical knowledge with a human-centered design approach. Collaborating closely with the Atlas Copco development team, we adopted a blended team strategy to facilitate smooth cooperation and knowledge transfer throughout the project. We implemented our established collaborative approach by creating a detailed project roadmap, including extensive technical specifications and budget considerations. This initial phase comprised developing visual concepts for key mobile interfaces and outlining the entire technical architecture, ensuring alignment between both teams before proceeding to development.
Our Solution We created a mobile app for SMARTLINK, an IoT-enabled solution that provides users with complete, data-driven insights into their compressed air installation while on the move. Features of this solution include:
- Push Notifications: Users instantly receive alerts about equipment status and can directly manage their notification preferences through the mobile app.
- Enhanced Mobile Experience: The redesigned Atlas Copco SMARTLINK app places all essential information at users' fingertips, making it accessible anytime and anywhere.
