Social network
Our team is responsible for developing and managing a new social networking service that allows users to create and oversee their own gaming profiles, form groups, organize events, discover and share games, connect with other players, and stay updated with news and community discussions. The application features a public web user interface, an admin interface, background modules for various tasks, and several desktop tools. The web interface is designed for high performance and is suitable for WebFarm hosting. It incorporates the Facebook API for user authentication, activity sharing, and friend communication. The admin interface offers essential functionality for managing games, news, and users, as well as several asynchronous tools. The background modules gather statistics, import external data, provide recommendations, and more. The project is based in the USA and has been ongoing for 1.5 years, involving a team of 5 developers, a QA specialist, a team leader, and a project manager, following an Agile process. The technology stack includes .NET 4.5, C#, ASP.NET MVC 4, Razor, jQuery Ajax, a custom-built ORM utilizing ADO.NET and Entity Framework 5, MS SQL 2012, multithreading, HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery/Bootstrap, IIS 7.5, Windows Server 2012, as well as integration with the Facebook API, Graph API, RSS, various third-party APIs, and tools like FogBugz and Vault.
