Health Imperatives

Health Imperatives is a nonprofit organization providing vital health and crisis intervention services throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. Offering a range of programs from reproductive health to support for domestic violence and economic empowerment, the organization sought a website that accurately showcased the urgency, complexity, and diversity of its mission. The old site was challenging to navigate, especially for users in crisis, and often used internal program names that were not familiar to the general public. This made it difficult for visitors to understand the available services, their target audience, and how to access them. Health Imperatives required a mobile-friendly, service-focused website that streamlined pathways, eliminated barriers, and enabled internal staff to manage content more effectively. The goal was to create a website that connected users with essential services, shifting from an internally focused platform to one that prioritizes user needs and accessibility, particularly for those in crisis. With this in mind, the main objectives were:

Catalyzing Climate Action on Cape Ann

TownGreen

TownGreen is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing climate resilience throughout Cape Ann, Massachusetts. By focusing on education, forming strategic partnerships, and implementing community-driven initiatives, the organization supports local governments and residents in addressing the region’s urgent climate issues. As TownGreen transitioned from a grassroots movement to a central coordinating body, it required a website that accurately represented the scope of its efforts, fostered collaboration, and motivated significant local involvement. When TownGreen reached out to 118Group, it was experiencing a major transformation. Originally a small, education-centric nonprofit, it was evolving into a strategic facilitator by organizing regional working groups, spearheading ecological restoration initiatives, and collaborating with local governments on climate resilience efforts. This change created a need for clarity: TownGreen required assistance in defining its new mission, structuring its expanding range of programs, and developing a website that could convey its goals, encourage community participation, and illustrate its broader regional significance. The organization aimed for a website that clearly conveyed its changing role as a regional climate leader while allowing for community engagement, program expansion, and long-term trustworthiness. The main goal was to revamp the website from a collection of program updates into a cohesive, forward-looking platform that aligns with TownGreen’s evolving strategy. With this vision in mind, the primary objectives were:

Transforming access to aging services

Mass Aging Access

Prior to rebranding as Aging Access, the organization was called Mass HomeCare, a name that no longer accurately reflected its mission. With a commitment to advocating for 27 aging service agencies in Massachusetts, there was a need for a brand that better represented their expanded goals. This shift required not only a new identity but also a website that effectively showcased the range and impact of their efforts. To initiate the project, we developed a dynamic and inviting brand identity centered on the theme of “Access.” Chevrons, representing progress and connection, played a significant role in the design, while a balance of warm and cool colors conveyed trust and vitality. The updated logo encapsulates Aging Access’s mission and positions them as a contemporary, accessible hub for aging services statewide. We collaborated closely with the client to create compelling and straightforward messaging that aligns with their mission. The written content highlights their dedication to fostering a healthier, more resilient Massachusetts by improving access to vital services for seniors and their families. This messaging is integral to the brand’s voice throughout the website, ensuring every visitor grasps the organization’s essential role in the community. A major function of Aging Access is to connect individuals with the right aging service agency in their locality. To facilitate this, we designed an intuitive Member Lookup tool that allows users to enter their town and quickly find the nearest organization. This feature simplifies access to important services, making it easier for seniors and their families to receive the support they need.
